At Silbon, we see fashion as a form of identity that goes beyond fleeting trends. That’s why we create intergenerational garments designed to last — not only for their quality but also for their timeless style.

In this way, we distance ourselves from the prevailing “fast fashion” model, which promotes intensive use of natural resources, cheap labor, and unsustainable consumption, with garments that last little and are quickly discarded.

MATERIALS

In line with our commitment, we continuously work to select materials that not only meet high-quality standards but also help minimize the environmental impact of our garments. Whenever technical and design conditions allow, we prioritize the use of sustainable, recycled, or responsibly sourced fibers.

Our collections are made from 86%* natural fibers, such as cotton, wool, or linen, to reduce our environmental impact. We know it’s not a complete solution, but it’s a more sustainable choice that has a positive effect on the earth and the people who cultivate these resources. We want you to feel as proud of what you wear as we are of how we make it.

Cotton

Cotton (Organic and BCI)

Cotton (Organic and BCI): Combines more sustainable farming practices. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, promoting soil biodiversity. BCI cotton improves water-use efficiency and reduces pesticide use, while also promoting fair working conditions.

Wool

Wool (Regular and Merino)

Natural, renewable, and biodegradable fibers sourced from sheep. Wool is produced annually without the need for intensive chemical processes. It is durable, hypoallergenic, and thermoregulating, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Merino wool is softer and finer, often coming from ethically raised sheep.

Leather

Leather

The sustainability of leather is complex. Although it is a natural, durable, and biodegradable by-product of the meat industry, traditional tanning processes can be intensive in chemicals and water. More responsible alternatives focus on tanning methods with lower environmental impact or on using recycled leather by-products.

Polyester

Polyester (in general, prioritizing recycled)

A highly durable and resistant synthetic fiber. In its more responsible form, recycled polyester is made from plastic waste, such as bottles or fishing nets. This reduces the need for virgin polyester (derived from petroleum) and decreases waste, while also requiring less energy during production. It is not biodegradable.

Silk

Silk (including sustainable options)

A luxurious, soft, and thermoregulating natural fiber that comes from the silkworm. More responsible alternatives include Peace Silk or Ahimsa Silk, which allow the moth to complete its life cycle before the cocoon is collected. Organic silk is produced without the use of toxic chemicals during breeding.

Linen

Linen

A natural plant-based fiber known for being highly sustainable, biodegradable, and extremely durable (even more than cotton). Its cultivation requires very little water and fewer pesticides or fertilizers than other crops. It is hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and highly breathable.

PRODUCTION

At Silbon, we work every day to reduce our environmental impact, and local production is one of our most important commitments. Although not all our products are made locally, we strive to collaborate with nearby workshops, which allows us to reduce our carbon footprint, strengthen the local economy, and ensure more responsible production processes.

We know that the path toward sustainability is an ongoing challenge, but we are committed to taking steady steps toward a more conscious and planet-friendly future.

45% of the production for our 2025 collection was carried out locally in Europe, in countries such as Portugal (28%), Spain (14.5%), and Italy (3.5%). The remaining production took place in Asia, in countries including China (30%), Bangladesh (5.7%), Pakistan (6.2%), Myanmar (3.5%), and others (8.6%).

Since 2024, we have been working with BCome to ensure the traceability of our products. This allows us to know in detail the origin of each garment, as well as its production process and the materials used. Having this information enables us to communicate transparently to our customers the environmental and social impact of our collections. This commitment to traceability not only reinforces our responsibility but also empowers consumers to make more informed and conscious choices when selecting sustainable fashion.

The analysis system used by BCome is based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. This approach evaluates the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle — from production to delivery — providing a detailed and accurate understanding of each phase in the supply chain.

Deprivation of water for humans and ecosystems caused by water consumption throughout the product’s value chain.

Global Warming

Climate change caused by the greenhouse effect of heat-trapping pollutants released throughout the product’s value chain.

Savings: 780,292.91 kg of CO₂ eq.*

Eutrophication

Eutrophication

Proliferation of algae in an ecosystem caused by the excessive release of phosphates and nitrates throughout the product’s value chain.

Savings: 6,274,310.07 g of phosphate equivalent saved.*
Equivalent to 125,486 bottles of laundry detergent.
