WECARE FOR THE PLANET
We are living through an environmental crisis in which climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem pollution are directly linked to our patterns of production and consumption. The fashion industry is one of the most polluting sectors, and its impact is significant for several reasons: it relies on a long and complex supply chain (agriculture, petrochemical manufacturing, production, logistics, and retail), and the prevailing “fast fashion” model promotes intensive use of natural resources, cheap labor, and unsustainable consumption, with garments that have short lifespans and are quickly discarded.

Carbon Footprint and Silbon Forest
Our garments are made with high-quality materials, prioritizing the use of organic fabrics.

Energy Efficiency
Our strategy is based on energy efficiency, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels through the installation of solar panels.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
We are conducting energy audits in our stores, production centers, and headquarters to optimize energy use and reduce our environmental impact. These audits will allow us to identify areas for improvement in energy efficiency.
In 2023, we began analyzing Scopes 1 and 2 of our carbon footprint, and in 2024 we included Scope 3. This means that, in addition to direct emissions from our facilities (Scope 1) and those associated with energy consumption (Scope 2), we now also consider indirect emissions throughout our value chain — such as transportation, input production, product use, and end-of-life. This allows us to gain a complete picture of our climate impact. Our goal is to reduce our direct emissions by 50% by 2030.
For the quantification and monitoring of our emissions, we use the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol), the leading international standard for measuring carbon footprints. This framework allows us to rigorously assess the impact of our activities, including emissions associated with transport within our value chain.
SILBON FOREST
As part of our commitment to protecting biodiversity and combating deforestation, we launched the “Silbon Forest” project — a reforestation initiative aimed at restoring ecosystems and mitigating the effects of climate change in the province of Córdoba. This project, carried out in collaboration with the Córdoba Provincial Council, not only seeks to offset CO₂ emissions generated by the company’s activities but also to actively contribute to the restoration of natural landscapes affected by human activity.

The Silbon Forest is located at Finca Porrillas and covers an area of 13 hectares, where successive plantings of native trees have been carried out. Across three phases, a total of 4,000 trees will be planted, starting with 1,500 specimens in 2023. Each phase of the project will receive special care for two years, including regular watering and maintenance, to ensure healthy growth and effective environmental contribution.
The choice of native species such as stone pine, holm oak, and carob reinforces our commitment to restoring local biodiversity, ensuring that the trees are not only resilient to the terrain’s conditions but also help recover the region’s natural habitats.
This plantation aims to generate a positive impact on air quality, the water cycle, and the conservation of local species, while also contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
WASTE MINIMIZATION
At Silbon, we work to reduce the environmental impact of our activity through efficient and responsible waste management at our headquarters. In 2024, a total of 94,500 kg of waste was managed, classified into three main categories: cardboard, plastic, and textile. All were separately collected and sent to treatment plants for proper recycling, allowing us to confirm that 100% of the waste generated at our headquarters is recycled.

Cardboard: 84,000 kg

Plastic: 9,400 kg

Textile: 1,100 kg
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
To continue reducing GHG emissions, during 2022 and 2023 we installed photovoltaic solar energy systems at two of our facilities: Silbon’s headquarters and one retail outlet (Córdoba outlet).
A total investment of €16,202 was made for this project. Together, both installations cover approximately 175 m², with a production capacity of 36 (18 kWp per plant).

CIRCULAR FASHION

The Second Life project was created to transform the concept of fast fashion and excessive consumption, offering our customers a far more environmentally conscious shopping alternative.
This initiative offers a second-hand sales channel where customers can return Silbon garments they no longer use in exchange for a financial credit to their Silbon account. These garments are carefully inspected and resold on our website. In this way, we promote product reuse and waste reduction.

Defective Garment Management
In the fashion industry, things don’t always go perfectly: returns, defective items, or products that do not meet expectations. At Silbon, our customers have the right to return any purchased items for any reason.
A year ago, we realized that many garments were being discarded due to minor defects (buttons, loose seams, subtle stains, etc.), so we decided to create an initiative that would bring these items back into the economic cycle. We developed a management process to identify these garments and opened a space at our Córdoba outlet where they are sold at a very reduced price. Additionally, some of these garments are donated; if they cannot be recovered, they are sent to a specialized recycling company.
