The bottom of the pants

El bajo del pantalón
Beyond the choice of garments when creating an outfit is the way of presenting it. And as you know, and if that's not what I'm here for, there are some details that speak about us much more than we think. In this post I would like to talk to you about one of those important details that can ruin or consecrate a perfect look : the bottom of the pants .

Beyond the choice of garments when creating an outfit, there is the way of presenting it. And as you know, and if that's not what I'm here for, there are some details that speak about us much more than we think. In this post I would like to talk to you about one of those important details that can ruin or consecrate a perfect look : the bottom of the pants .

It would be important for us to differentiate between the three types of pants that we usually use on a daily basis:

  • Dress pants
  • Sport pants : chinos and five pockets
  • Jeans pants

WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT THERE ARE PROTOCOLAR MEASURES THAT WILL ALWAYS BE CORRECT FOR THE PANTS, AND THAT, WHEN IN DOUBT, THEY ARE THE BEST OPTION, WE SHOULD NOT FORGET THAT TIMES CHANGE AND THE "RULES" ARE INCREASINGLY LESS STRICT.

THE STANDARD MEASUREMENT IS GIVEN WHEN THE FRONT PART OF THE LEG GRAB THE TONGUE OF THE SHOE AND THE REAR PART OF THE LEG TOUCHES THE BACK OF THE SHOE. WITH THIS, YOU WILL NEVER FAIL.

I PARTICULARLY LIKE TO WEAR A DIFFERENT LENGTH FOR EACH PANTS THAT I WEAR, YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE BOOTS THAT I USE MAY SEEM TOO SHORT TO MANY OF YOU.

LET'S SAY THAT IT IS A LICENSE THAT WE CAN AFFORD OURSELVES IN THESE TIMES, BUT ALWAYS KNOWING THE CORRECT MEASURES FIRST. YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I THINK, TO BREAK THE STYLE RULES YOU FIRST HAVE TO KNOW THEM.

I like to leave between 2 and 3 cm between the shoe and the bottom of the garment. Many of you also ask me about the measurement of the opening of my pants.

For those of you who are not familiar with this term, it is the width of the bottom of the pants leg. Well, it depends on each model but, in general, I am using measurements somewhat closer to the conventional (between 17 and 18 cm).

I like that the pants do not lose their true being. I don't see myself with a 20-21 cm mouth (although, be careful, pants are becoming less and less fitted and short) nor do I like overly fitted cuts with 15-16 cm mouths.

My tips for adapting the classic feature to the present:

  • Shorten your dress pants a couple of centimeters . It will help you look taller, and if you don't need it, it will give you a nice cool touch. Of course, be careful with this. There are events in which it is better to resort to the classic trouser length.
  • Give the hem of your sport pants a turn or two . You can shorten them, but if you leave them the correct size you will always have the option of shortening them with a simple twist or using them with the classic length.

THIS IS ALL FOR TODAY, ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE. I HOPE I HAVE HELPED YOU AND RESOLVED ANY QUESTIONS.
UNTIL NEXT TIME.
